General Meetings/Board Meetings
We have six general meetings per year. These meetings provide an opportunity for you to meet other neighbors and also to meet with City officials, business owners, community leaders, etc. Meetings are held in February, April, June, August, October and December. The meeting dates are announced in the newsletter that is hand delivered to your doorstep by volunteers. Meetings are held at Copper Star Coffee (7th Ave at Heatherbrae) with the exception of the October meeting which is the Annual Neighborhood Cookout.
Board meetings are the “business” meetings of the Association officers and are held monthly. If you are interested in attending one of the board meetings, contact an Association officer.

Association Newsletter
The Association Newsletter, Neighborhood News, is distributed six times a year between general meetings. The newsletter is an excellent resource to find out all the goings-on in and around the neighborhood. Also included are bulk trash and irrigation schedules, block watch information and other informative, useful information to help keep us connected and informed. All neighbors are invited to submit articles for publication in the newsletter.

7th Avenue Street Fair
The 7th Ave Street Fair, hosted by the Seventh Avenue Merchants Association (SAMA), the City of Phoenix and the four surrounding neighborhoods is held annually in the spring. 7th Avenue is closed between Indian School Road and Campbell and hosts arts and crafts, music, food, a car show and much, much more. The Street Fair is the major fundraiser of the year for the Association. The Association provides a booth at 7th Avenue and Glenrosa. Volunteers sell soda, water, t-shirts, plants and also collect dues to help raise some bucks to support the Association.

Neighborhood Cookout
Each October, in association with our Block Watch Program, the Association hosts a cookout and block party for all neighbors. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and chat with your neighbors, cook some burgers and enjoy other activities—the Annual Pumpkin Carving contest begins this year along 11th Avenue between Heatherbrae and Glenrosa. Pumpkins, s’mores, and fun for everyone!

Neighborhood Yard Sale
Also held in October is the Annual Neighborhood Yard Sale. Lots of homes participate—every street is full of sales, and we usually end up with a bunch of each other’s stuff. It is great fun to see all of the activity, life and action in the neighborhood on Yard Sale Saturday.

Luminaria & Decorating Contest
The culmination of the year brings the Annual luminaria display. Luminaria bags and candles are distributed to each home for lighting on the Saturday evening before Christmas. This is an amazing and beautiful, peaceful sight—we invite you to go for a walk and enjoy it!
Also in December is the Annual “Decorate Your Street contest”. The street with the most holiday spirit gets the honors. The Association participates by decking the poles with garlands and ribbon.
Join, participate, volunteer—this is a fantastic place to

flourish!
