I have found the Introduce Yourself thread very helpful on other forums.  I thought I would start that thread here so we have the opportunity of getting to know the people in our neighborhood that we may not have met yet.

I'll go ahead and get this started.  My name is Tony and my wife Beth and I live on 9th Ave and Heatherbrae with our two dogs (English Mastiff and Border Collie) and 10 day old daughter, Nora.  We have lived in this neighborhood for almost four years.  In that short time we have seen a lot of changes in the area with a lot of new neighbors, as well as some great new businesses; Copper Star, Melrose Pharmacy, and Wag n Wash to name a few.

My wife works as a health care consultant and I manage a team of software developers for Cable One, a cable company owned by the Washington Post but headquartered in Phoenix.  Beth is originally from Hightstown, New Jersey (exit 8) and I was born in Denver but moved to Phoenix when I was 3.

Our favorite recreational activity would probably be traveling.  A close second for me would be to ride my motorcycle on twisty roads.

We love this neighborhood and hope to get to know more of the people living here!

Tony and Beth.  Nice to meet you!  I'm sure I have met you on my walks with my dog "Laddie."  I'm Mark on Mac.  I've been in the neighborhood for 15 years.  It is a very friendly neighborhood.  It is a challenge, at times, living in this urban scene.  The "heat island" affect really bothers me this time of year.  Last winter and spring I promised not to complain since we had such gorgeous weather at that time. I am essentially retired as a clinical social worker/therapist.  I am now teaching part time at Phoenix College.  I have enjoyed a lot of free time this summer but within a week I will be busy with a number of classes for this fall semester.   I'll look for you on "the walk."

Hello, my name is Brian.  I live on Glenrosa with my wife, Michelle and two very small children, Tyler (two and a half) and Lizzie (15 months).  I work at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and just learned that I will be doing additional work for the Governor's Office.  My wife works as a media and political consultant.  During campaign season, you will see campaign signs in front of our house (mostly Democratic leaning...not easy in Arizona).  My wife and I have lived here for four and a half years. 

I was recently appointed to the Encanto Village Planning Committee by Tom Simplot.  This means that things go to our Committee before they go to Phoenix Planning and Zoning.  I care very much about the neighborhood and hope to live here a long time.  If you have any questions or want to talk about the area and proposals to build, I will be happy to talk.  You will see me at most neighborhood meetings (if not me then my wife....one of us has to take care of the kids).
